Traditional Balinese Cooking Class

Enjoying the Balinese way of cooking, can be a wonderful thing to experience during your visit to the “Island of the Gods”. we would love the opportunity to teach you how to make Balinese food. We are located in Laplapan Village and all of our classes are conducted in a traditional Balinese-style kitchen that is typically found in our village. The environment is safe and friendly and English speaking
local guides are there to help you.

Balinese food has a specific character and spices have an important role in creating the unique flavor. You will be taught the traditional methods for preparing Balinese food, including how we utilize the special tropical plants, roots and herbs found on the “Island of the Gods”.

We have special Cooking Class Program to guide you to learn and make Balinese menu (Vegetarian or Non Vegetarian menu), all menu will made by your hand self, and then you will savor the delight that you have for lunch or dinner.

This you’ll find in our program; explore the local or traditional market, meet the farmers and learn how they grow rice, and finally you will learn how to make many delicious menus from authentic Balinese recipes and ingredients.

COOKING CLASS PROGRAM

Our staff Cooking Class Program will guide and take you to the new experience about Bali, learning about secret of Balinese culture, local wisdom and culinary as well. Not just cooking, our program will take you to the warmly Balinese family, sharing story about our living and bring you to the beautiful Balinese scenery especially in Ubud. This you’ll find in our program; explore the local or traditional market, meet the farmers and learn how they grow rice, and finally you will learn how to make many delicious menus from authentic Balinese recipes and ingredients.

Explore the Local Market

Starting around 9.00 am, our guides take you to explore the local market and you will experience how the real Balinese people buy their food, see the traditional market with warmly environment during transaction. Of course you can communicate and take pictures with them.

Meet the Farmers and Local People & Culture

After from the local market, around 9.30 am you will be taken to a picturesque rice field, meet the farmers and learn how they grow rice (Beras), a very symbolic and important food to the Balinese culture.

Starting Bali Cooking Class with Canting Bali family

You will arrive at the our Bali Cooking Class facility, located in beautiful place overlooking rice paddy in Laplapan village and be warmly welcomed by our Bali family. Our family will expertly assist you in creating your very own Balinese cuisine… and it will be absolutely delicious!.

You will also have the chance to experience the real Bali also explore the family temple and learn the art of coconut leaf creations a part of the tradition of the Balinese ceremony – the offerings to the Gods. Take home this new beautiful skill and surprise your friends.

What You Will Learn

In our Bali Cooking Class you will learn how to make many delicious menus from authentic Balinese recipes and ingredients. We will cooking Balinese Non Vegetarian (Regular Menu) and Balinese Vegetarian menu it will be absolutely delicious and a lot of fun.

Balinese Non Vegetarian (Regular Menu)

1.      Soup Ayam Jamur ( Chicken soup with mushroom )

2.      Tempe Lalah Manis ( Spiced and sweet fried tempe )

3.      Tahu Kare ( Tofu curry with Balinese spices )

4.      Sate Lilit ( Minced of spices fish skewer )

5.      Pepes Tuna ( Grilled fish in banana leaf )

6.      Lawar Bali ( Mix Vegetable with Balinese spices )

7.      Sambal Matah ( Raw spices with coconut oil )

8.      Dadar Gulung ( Rolled cake with coconut & palm
sugar )

Balinese Vegetarian Menu

  1. Vegetable Soup ( Assorted vegetable with lemongrass)
  2. Tempe Lalah Manis ( Spiced and sweet fried tempe )
  3. Tahu Kare ( Tofu curry with Balinese spices )
  4. Sate Tempe ( Soybean cake skewer with peanut sauce )
  5. Pepes Tahu ( Soybean curd grilled in banana leaf )
  6. Lawar Bali ( Mix Vegetable with Balinese spices)
  7. Sambal Matah ( Raw spices with coconut oil )
  8. Dadar Gulung ( Rolled cake with coconut & palm sugar )
